How did this film get made?
This film was realized as a joint project of the production management and interns of the company Naumann Film in Munich. Naumann Film produces highquality advertising films in the high-end area, whereby this film was created outside of the work. The entire project was financed by the crew members themselves.
Why was the film made?
As genre fans we think it´s a shame that there is only a small number of thrillers apart from police-detective stories in Germany. We have therefore decided to pursue our passion and make our own contribution to the genre :)
Is the film inspired by true events?
There are still members of the Red Army Faction who have not been caught or who have not been identified. In 2018, 3 ex-RAF members were publicly searched for after robbing banks and shops with heavy weapons. These reports formed the basis for the script.
Was there a specific movie-inspiration?
We were very impressed by the film Green Room by Jeremy Saulnier. The way in which this film creates excitement and a dense atmosphere out of a situation that is very limited (locally and in terms of personnel) is exemplary. However, our film has a different tonality due to a high proportion of action and no horror elements.
What was the most difficult part of the production?
Since it is a non-commercial production, it was not easy to find a suitable shooting block with all the actors. The biggest challenge was then to shoot a 20-minute film on just 3 ½ days of shooting at 4 different locations.
How do you see the future of German genre cinema?
We believe that more „courage“ is needed for new ideas, as well as greater acceptance by the audience. There is also a large part of German history away from National Socialism that should be opened up for genre films.
